Meet the Candidate: Lucy McBath

Lucia “Lucy” McBath is a mother, wife, businesswoman and activist for social justice.

After a 30-year career with Delta Air Lines, her second career has focused on reform that will make our communities safer and better for every American of every background.

She is a Democrat from Cobb County and has served as the national spokesperson for Everytown for Gun Safety. McBath says she became the national spokesperson for Everytown for Gun Safety after her son was shot and killed by a man at a gas station who objected to the music her son was playing in his car. In Congress, McBath says she will fight for permanent middle-class tax cuts that help working families, not just billionaires and corporations, raise the minimum wage, and protect a woman’s right to choose.

Learn about Lucy:

“I’m not someone who’s spent my entire life trying to figure out how to be a politician.  But an ordinary person like myself, coming from very extraordinary circumstances and tragedies in my life, [gives] me a vision that’s based on my experiences.”

Lucia “Lucy” McBath is a mother, wife, businesswoman and activist for social justice. In Congress, she’ll work to ensure that Washington works for Georgian families. More about Lucy...
